This Center dedicated to culture was born after the reconstruction of the Diego Portales Building after the violent fire that destroyed it in 2006.

After the aerial bombardment to the Palace of La Moneda, this building was used as the seat of government during the dictatorship and later the Ministry of Defense was established there. The reconstruction work was the work of architect Cristian Fernández.

Shops, theater, art and culture exhibitions, among other activities you can enjoy in this venue.

GAM offers free access to BiblioGAM, the Visual Arts Room and the American Popular Art Room. Access to the building is free, from Monday to Sunday. Wifi available in common areas and squares.

Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays: from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Closed every day from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Special events
Delivery of tickets and invitations for free events from Monday to Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
