This museum, also identified with the acronym MNBA, is one of the main diffusers of visual arts in Chile that was founded on September 18, 1980 with the name of Museum of Paintings and houses more than 3000 pieces; within them, the most important collection of Chilean sculpture in the country.

The glass dome that crowns the central hall of the Museum was designed and built in Belgium, commissioned to the Compagnie Centrale de Construction de Haine-Saint-Pierre, and brought to Chile in 1907.

Throughout its history, the architecture of the building has undergone several modifications. On December 30, 1976, the building of the National Museum of Fine Arts was declared a National Monument.

Museum Hours
Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 6:45 hrs.
Library Hours
Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 1:30 hrs and from 3:00 to 5:45 hrs.
