Nearest Turistik bus stop: Bus Stop 7: Plaza de la Constitución

In the place where the Ministry of War used to be, the Plaza de la Constitución was built in order to give greater scope and projection to the Palacio de la Moneda.

It is a work of the Austrian urban planner Karl Brunner dating from the first decades of the twentieth century, remodeled in the 80s by the architects Undurraga and Devés, getting the look it has today, in which the roundabout that has in between, allows to appreciate the ministerial buildings around him.

Right here you can enjoy the Changing of the Guard, the most traditional ceremony of the Palacio de la Moneda. It is a free activity that takes place at 10:00 am during the week and 11:00 am on weekends, during even days in the months of February, March, June, July, September and October; while in the months of January, April, May, August, November and December are the odd days.
