Saint Lucia Hill

Saint Lucia Hill

Nearest Turistik bus stop: Stop 8: Santa Lucía

It is very close to the civic center of Santiago. It is a historical and cultural icon of the city and the Metropolitan Region.

The Mapuches called it Huelén, a word that in Mapudungún means melancholy, sadness or pain. It is a hill of 69 m. of height, covering 65,300 m2, originally was a wild rock that was used as a viewpoint because from its top you had a panoramic view of the territory. After the arrival of the Spaniards, Pedro de Valdivia renamed it Santa Lucia and founded the city of Santiago at its feet on February 12, 1541.

Here you will find one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the capital of Chile. The sunset is incredibly appreciated and the photo sessions are the must-see of this attraction.
