It is one of the most important and ancient cultural centers of Chile. It was built by the French architect Claude Brunet des Baines in neoclassical style in the image of European theaters.

It is currently managed by the Cultural Corporation of Santiago and houses the fundamental institutions for national artistic development; such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago, the Ballet of Santiago and the Municipal Choir of Santiago. It was declared a National Monument in 1974 and since then it has become an emblematic artistic site of the city.

There are different options to visit it. For the general public, students – who can complement the experience with educational workshops – families, institutions, seniors and people with reduced mobility. In addition, there are private visits, which can be done in Spanish, English or Portuguese. For this you must write to the email:
